The Al Razeen project represents a transformative upgrade of an existing wastewater treatment plant, redefining how legacy infrastructure can be enhanced without major reconstruction.
Aligned with TAQA Water Solutions’ operational and sustainability objectives, GI Aqua Tech deployed advanced G.NANO technology to significantly increase treatment capacity while maintaining uninterrupted plant operation.
Within just 20 days—and without any civil works—the plant capacity was successfully increased from 4,000 to 9,000 m³/day, all within a compact footprint of approximately 430 m².
The system is fully enclosed, odor-free, and designed to handle highly variable influent conditions, including fluctuations in organic load and flow rates, ensuring stable and reliable performance at all times.
With ultra-low energy consumption of approximately 0.15 kWh/m³, the solution delivers both operational efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
The treated effluent meets stringent P1 reuse standards, enabling safe water reuse for irrigation and supporting circular water management strategies.
This project demonstrates a scalable and replicable model for upgrading existing wastewater treatment plants worldwide—offering faster deployment, lower costs, and significantly reduced carbon footprint compared to conventional approaches.
